Here’s Why Microneedling has Become so Popular

With advances in aesthetic technology and treatments, there are many methods and therapies available for fixing your skin flaws. However, microneedling has become a popular choice because it uses your skin’s natural rejuvenation process to address numerous skin concerns with very little downtime.

At Montclair Rejuvenation Center in Verona, New Jersey, our aesthetic specialists offer many beauty treatments to meet a wide-range of skin needs and aesthetic goals. However, microneedling is one of our most requested treatments and we want you to know why.

Microneedling for natural skin rejuvenation

One of the reasons microneedling is so popular is because it stimulates your skin’s natural rejuvenating powers. The microneedling tool creates micro wounds, also called micro channels, in the surface layer of your skin, which superficially injures the collagen strands and the tiny blood vessels.

Though the micro wounds close on their own within 10 minutes, the injury stimulates your skin’s wound healing cascade, which leads to the release of many growth factors and connective tissue activating proteins. The wound healing process triggers the production of new collagen, elastin, and capillaries.

Adding new blood vessels and collagen thickens your skin, reduces the appearance of scars, and improves the tone, texture, and look of your skin.

Fixes many cosmetic concerns

When first introduced in 1995, microneedling was primarily used as a treatment for scars, according to a review published in the July-August 2016 issue of Indian Dermatology Online Journal.

However, now we use microneedling to fix many cosmetic concerns, including:

To maximize the beauty benefits of your microneedling, we use The Vivace® Fractional Micro Needle RF Device. This innovative aesthetic tool combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy.

Like microneedling, radiofrequency energy also stimulates collagen production, but at a deeper layer so you get optimal results. The radiofrequency energy also causes the cells in your skin to contract, which creates an immediate lifting and smoothing effect that you see right away.

Virtually pain-free with little downtime

We want nothing more than to help you meet your aesthetic goals without pain or the need to take time out from your life. Before we start your microneedling, we first apply a numbing cream to your skin so you feel little to no pain.

Your total treatment takes an hour or less. After your microneedling, we may apply a special serum to your skin to accelerate the healing process.

Though we recommend you avoid applying makeup for at least six hours, there’s no need for downtime following your microneedling session. To get the best results, we may recommend up to three treatments spaced up to six weeks apart.

Though it takes your skin some time to create new blood vessels and collagen, you may start to notice improvements in your skin within two weeks and continue to see the effects of your microneedling over the next 6-8 months.

Delivery system for other rejuvenating treatments

Microneedling by itself offers many benefits. However, by creating micro wounds in the surface of your skin, it also serves as the perfect delivery system for other beauty treatments.

We may suggest combining your microneedling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or exosomes, which are forms of regenerative medicine that enhances the wound healing process to optimize the results of your treatment

Though not considered a microneedling treatment, Aquagold® fine touch™ takes microneedling to the next level. It uses a patented microchannel microinjector device to deliver rejuvenating serums and solutions directly into your skin.
